OPEN POSITIONS

CLASSROOM TEACHER

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Classroom Teacher is responsible for the development, implementation and supervision of the broad range of educational/treatment programs that meet the needs of the students served, and their families. He or she is directly responsible to the Principal/Assistant Principal. 

Department: School Program

Pay Type: Salary - $50,905.44

  

School Responsibilities

· Assess students to determine their skill levels, abilities and deficit areas.

· Develop an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for students, which addresses their 

  individual needs.

· Implement and supervise the implementation of student programs as identified in the goals and 

  objectives listed in a student's IEP.

· Manage the classroom by supervising assigned teacher aides and volunteers.

· Assist in lifting and carrying of students who weigh up to 150 pounds.

· Assist children in toileting needs, i.e. placing on potty, changing diapers, depending on individual 

  needs of the student.

· Maintain student classroom files and program folders.

· Complete all required reports, forms, charts, etc. (Daily Student Attendance, Seizure Reports, 

  Incident Reports, IEP's, Parent Reports, Home Visit Reports, etc.)

· Attend and participate in certified staff meetings.

· Attend all school in-services.

· Maintain a working relationship with parents.

· Evaluate teacher aides as designated by the Director of School Services.

· Maintain confidentiality at all times. 

All other duties as assigned.

RESIDENTIAL SUPERVISOR


GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Responsible for the overall operation of the residence and for providing appropriate, quality care to the residents as determined by the Community Support Team and in accordance with established guidelines developed by The William M. BeDell Achievement and Resource Center and the Illinois Department of Human Services Disabilities.


Department: Residential CILA

Pay Type: Salary - $39,520

  Program Responsibilities  

  • To provide appropriate, quality care to each individual resident in the home in accordance with the Individual Service Plan and as agreed upon by the Community Support Team.
  • To provide adequate supervision and in-service training to all relief supervisors assigned to the home.
  • To provide current, updated information to relief staff, especially as it relates to behaviors, medications, and changes in routine.
  • To assure that the home has adequate and appropriate staff coverage at all times and that the Program Director is aware of any staff scheduling changes.
  • To assure that all medications are given as prescribed and all other medical procedures are carried out as directed within the home.
  • To assure that residents are provided quality and nutritious meals and to assure that a variety of foods are available for relief staff to prepare for residents.
  • To assure that all diet restrictions are carried out as directed. 
  • To assist residents in developing and pursuing appropriate leisure-time and recreational activities in accordance with their individual interests and abilities.
  • To assist residents in developing and maintaining healthful grooming and hygiene practices.
  • To assure that the home is maintained in a manner which is healthful, safe, orderly, pleasant, clean, and comfortable.
  • To provide a warm, nurturing family environment in which each individual has every reasonable opportunity to grow and experience the world to the best of their ability.
  • To life and assist with transferring residents when appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  

Training Required:

Must be able to successfully complete the Direct Service Person (DSP) training within 120 days of employment as required by the Illinois Department of Human Services.

Must be able to successfully complete the Medication Administration training, as well as pass the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) in reading at the 8th grade level, as required by the Illinois Department of Human Services.

Must have current certification in CPR and First Aid.

Must successfully complete all agency-required orientation training.

Adhere to all policies and procedures per IDHS

Must have an understanding of HCBS Policy, Rule 116, Rule 115, OIG, CIRUS, BALC and BQM

ICILA/COMMUNITY SUPPORT SPECIALIST/DSP

  

The Community Support Specialist will work closely with other program staff to develop and maintain a schedule to involve individuals in community outings, appointments, and events on a regular basis. He/She will accompany individuals into the community to activities that interest them. The Community Support Specialist will assist with scheduling and attending medical appointments as necessary. He/She will be responsible for keeping accurate records of outings and those individuals involved.  Community Support Specialist will identify needs regarding activities of daily living in the home and community and assist with fulfilling those needs in accordance with the Person-Centered Plan. He/She is directly responsible to the Program Supervisor. 

Department: Family Support

Pay Type: $20/hr - Salary


Community Support Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Provide activities in accordance with the Personal Plan as developed by the individual and their ISC. 
  • Strive to understand needs, wants, and desired outcomes for individuals served.
  • Assist in activities of daily living & personal care.
  • Assist in therapeutic behavior interventions as stated in Personal Plans. 
  • Maintain adequate recordkeeping for all billable services.
  • Ensure safety while driving clients in personal and/or agency vehicles. 
  • Assist in training new staff. 
  • Communicate to Program Director and/or Program Supervisor regularly about outings.
  • Attend in-services and staff meetings.
  • Monitor and assist with scheduling in-house and community activities.
  • Responsible for timely completion of all required paperwork and reports including but


not limited to the following:

  • Daily Activity Logs
  • Monthly Mileage Report
  • Unusual Incident Reporting
  • CIRAS Critical Incident Reporting.
  • Abuse & Neglect Reporting for mandated reporters to OIG, APS, and/or DCFS.
  • Maintain accurate records of community outing attendance.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate medical appointment records and provide reports to supervisors and nurses as needed.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

SCHOOL NURSE (RN OR BSN)

  

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Program Nurse has the responsibility for the administration of treatments to ensure participation in an educational program, as prescribed by a student's attending physician. He or she is directly responsible to the Principal/Assistant Principal.

Department: School

Pay Type: Salary - $59,319

  

School Responsibilities

  • Administer medicine as prescribed by the student's attending physician to ensure participation in an educational program.
  • Administer treatments as prescribed by the student's attending physician to ensure participation in an educational program.
  • Provide in-service to staff regarding medical/nursing care of students.
  • Assist in lifting and carrying of students who weigh up to 150 pounds.
  • Assist children in toileting needs, i.e. placing on potty, changing diapers, depending on individual needs of the student.
  • Consult with student's physician as necessary to ensure participation in an educational program.
  • Attend parent and/or doctor conference regarding a student's medical and/or educational condition.
  • Assist and coordinate procedures for the health, safety and emergency care of students while under the jurisdiction of agency sponsored program.
  • Complete reports as requested.
  • Give medical consultation and assistance to all agency programs as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times. 
  • All other duties as assigned.

BeDell Achievement and Resource Center and the Illinois Department of Human Services Disabilities. 

Department: Residential

Pay Type: Hourly - $22/hr

  

Agency Responsibilities:

  • Attend all in-services and other scheduled meetings/activities as directed by the Program Director.
  • Establish and maintain good relations with the community in which the residence is located.
  • Compile reports, data and other information as directed and provide all necessary paperwork and time sheets to the office in a timely manner.
  • Inform the Residential Supervisor of any changes, problems, or concerns relating to the residents or their response to care and treatment.
  • Inform the Residential Supervisor of any problems relating to the maintenance of the home.
  • Inform the Lead Supervisor of any serious problems in the home requiring immediate attention or assistance.
  • Inform the Lead Supervisor of any change in plans or unusual situations.
  • Comply with all agency and program policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for working as scheduled or finding replacements as in accordance to the policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Program Responsibilities

  • To provide appropriate, quality care to each individual resident in the home in accordance with the Individual Service Plan and as agreed upon by the Community Support Team.
  • To be aware and familiar with any and all new developments within the home by reading the Log Book, attending home meetings, and communicating with the Residential Supervisor.
  • To assure that all medications are given as prescribed and all other medical procedures are carried out as directed within the home.
  • To assure that residents are provided quality and nutritious meals.
  • To assure that all diet restrictions are carried out as directed. 
  • To assist residents in developing and pursuing appropriate leisure-time and recreational activities in accordance with their individual interests and abilities.
  • To assist residents in developing and maintaining healthful grooming and hygiene practices.
  • To assure that the home is maintained in a manner which is healthful, safe, orderly, pleasant, clean, and comfortable.
  • To provide a warm, nurturing family environment in which each individual has every reasonable opportunity to grow and experience the world to the best of their ability.
  • To lift and assist with transferring residents when appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  

Training Required:
