- PHYSICAL PLANT VEHICLES TECHNICIAN
The Physical Plant/Vehicle Technician is responsible for assisting in the day to day operation of the facilities and all agency vehicles. The Physical Plant/Vehicle Technician is directly responsible to the Physical Plant/Vehicle Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Physical Plant Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining building and property of the ARC.
- Assist in maintaining equipment of ARC used in various programs.
- Assist in maintaining operation of heating and cooling unites of physical plant.
- Contact with outside service agencies for repairs, etc.
Vehicle Responsibilities
- Assist in maintenance and record keeping of all vehicles of ARC
- Assist in providing scheduled maintenance of all vehicles as necessary.
- Contact with outside service agencies for repairs, etc.

RESIDENTIAL RECREATION COORDINATOR
The Residential Recreation Coordinator has the responsibility of successfully integrating ARC recreation individuals into community activities. The Residential Coordinator is responsible for designing recreation activities to meet the abilities and care that each individual requires either in a group setting or on an individual basis. The Residential Coordinator is directly responsible to the Residential Program Director.
Department: Residential Program
Pay Type: Salary - $46,491.90
- Responsible to the Program Director for all recreational activities.
- Attend all in-service and other scheduled meetings/activities as directed by the Program Director.
- Be available to assist in general development of programs and services offered by the Agency.
- Comply with agency personnel policies.
- Compile monthly statistics and submit to appropriate staff.
- Assist Program Directors with recreational activities.
- Be available to assist in transporting staff, clients, etc., when requested.
Program Duties
- Develop and provide safe, appropriate and enjoyable activities to meet each individual’s abilities and interests.
- Provide for appropriate supervision to ensure safety for individuals served.
- Be aware of any potential mental, physical or behavioral problem that individuals may be experiencing and make sure the designated activity is appropriate for their current needs.
- Report any problems with the van immediately to appropriate staff
- Administer medication or first aid to individuals when applicable
- Report any injuries or incidents to appropriate staff in a timely manner
- Comply with all goals and objectives established for each individual when applicable.
- Act as liaison to other recreation facilities and agencies
- Ensure safety at all times while driving the van or during an activity.
- Make sure all recreation clients have a Recreation Program Release of Liability Form on file with the agency.
- Act as a member of the inter-disciplinary team when requested.
- Cover group homes as necessary.
- Remain active with Special Olympics as a coach.
- Other duties as assigned.

SPEECH PATHOLOGIST
The Speech/Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for the development, implementation, and coordination of the broad range of communication treatment programs that meet the needs of the students served. He or she is directly responsible to the Principal/Assistant Principal.

Pay Type: Salary - $57,489.60 (30/hours per week).
SCHOOL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assess students to determine speech and language skill levels, abilities and deficit areas.
- Develop individualized speech/language programs that address the student's needs.
- consult with classroom staff for the purpose of improving speech/language training procedures.
- assist in lifting and carrying of students who weigh up to 150 pounds.
- assist children in toileting needs, i.e. placing on potty, changing diapers, depending on individual needs of the students.
- Complete all required reports, forms, charts, etc. (home visit reports, incident reports, parent reports, IEP, etc.)
- provide staff/parent in-services as they relate to Speech/Language training aides available for use with severely/profoundly handicapped population.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Education - Master's Degree - Speech/Language Pathology
Certification/Licensure/Registration required for Illinois License or ISBE Certification.

BeDell Achievement and Resource Center and the Illinois Department of Human Services Disabilities.

- Establish and maintain good relations with the community in which the residence is located.
- Compile reports, data and other information as directed and provide all necessary paperwork and time sheets to the office in a timely manner.
- Inform the Residential Supervisor of any changes, problems, or concerns relating to the residents or their response to care and treatment.
- Inform the Residential Supervisor of any problems relating to the maintenance of the home.
- Inform the Lead Supervisor of any serious problems in the home requiring immediate attention or assistance.
- Inform the Lead Supervisor of any change in plans or unusual situations.
- Comply with all agency and program policies and procedures.
- Responsible for working as scheduled or finding replacements as in accordance to the policies.

- To be aware and familiar with any and all new developments within the home by reading the Log Book, attending home meetings, and communicating with the Residential Supervisor.
- To assure that all medications are given as prescribed and all other medical procedures are carried out as directed within the home.
- To assure that residents are provided quality and nutritious meals.
- To assure that all diet restrictions are carried out as directed.
- To assist residents in developing and pursuing appropriate leisure-time and recreational activities in accordance with their individual interests and abilities.
- To assist residents in developing and maintaining healthful grooming and hygiene practices.
- To assure that the home is maintained in a manner which is healthful, safe, orderly, pleasant, clean, and comfortable.
- To provide a warm, nurturing family environment in which each individual has every reasonable opportunity to grow and experience the world to the best of their ability.
- To lift and assist with transferring residents when appropriate.

Training Required:
Must be able to successfully complete the Direct Service Person (DSP) training within 120 days of employment as required by the Illinois Department of Human Services.
Must be able to successfully complete the Medication Administration training, as well as pass the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) in reading at the 8th grade level, as required by the Illinois Department of Human Services.
Must have current certification in CPR and First Aid.
Must successfully complete all agency-required orientation training.
Must have an understanding of the HCBS Policies, BQM, BALC, CANTS, Rule 116, Rule 115 and OIG.
