CLASSROOM TEACHER
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Classroom Teacher is responsible for the development, implementation and supervision of the broad range of educational/treatment programs that meet the needs of the students served, and their families. He or she is directly responsible to the Principal/Assistant Principal.

School Responsibilities
· Assess students to determine their skill levels, abilities and deficit areas.
· Develop an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for students, which addresses their
individual needs.
· Implement and supervise the implementation of student programs as identified in the goals and
objectives listed in a student's IEP.
· Manage the classroom by supervising assigned teacher aides and volunteers.
· Assist in lifting and carrying of students who weigh up to 150 pounds.
· Assist children in toileting needs, i.e. placing on potty, changing diapers, depending on individual
needs of the student.
· Maintain student classroom files and program folders.
· Complete all required reports, forms, charts, etc. (Daily Student Attendance, Seizure Reports,
Incident Reports, IEP's, Parent Reports, Home Visit Reports, etc.)
· Attend and participate in certified staff meetings.
· Attend all school in-services.
· Maintain a working relationship with parents.
· Evaluate teacher aides as designated by the Director of School Services.
· Maintain confidentiality at all times.
All other duties as assigned.

The CILA Residential Program Coordinator has the responsibility of assisting with the residential homes and office staff of the CILA Program. The Residential Program Coordinator is directly responsible to the Residential Program Director.

Assist with Employee staffing at each home.
Responsible for activities in the homes.
Responsible for supervising the Residential Recreation Coordinator.

Residential Nurse Trainer
General Description
The Residential Nurse-Trainer has the responsibility of training and authorizing direct care staff to administer prescribed medications to the individuals who reside within the ARC Residential Program. He or she is directly responsible to the Residential Program Director.

Pay Type: Hourly - $35.10/hr
Residential Responsibilities
· Meet the requirements of DHS Rule 116, Nurse Trainer.
· Responsible for the training and authorizing of non-licensed direct care staff for the purpose of medication administration.
· Responsible for determining whether an individual is capable of self-medication and making that recommendation to the individual’s physician.
· Responsible for reviewing and making corrections to each individual’s Medication Administration Record (MAR), and physician’s orders.
· Responsible for responding to all medication errors and suspected adverse drug reactions.
· Responsible for assessing each individual’s health status quarterly.
· Oversee the storage, distribution and administration of medications of all ARC residences.
· Re-evaluate the competency of each authorized direct care staff annually.
· Train each authorized DSP on new medications and their side-effects which are prescribed for individuals in their care prior to administering the new medication.
· Be available by phone whenever a medication question arises.
· Responsible for providing assistance, direction and advice regarding medical changes in the individual’s program.
· All other duties as assigned.
Education (minimum requirements for education and experience)
Preferred: RN or BSN, possess two years of clinical professional nursing experience within the past
two years, at least one of which shall preferably have been in developmental disabilities.
Certification/Licensure/Registration required for Illinois License (current year)
Successfully completed the DHS Nurse/Trainer Training Program.
Experience:
Technical - two years of nursing experience
