About Us

Community Day Service

For adults 21 and older with developmental disabilities, the Community Day Services at BeDell ARC serves individuals that function in the moderate, severe, or profound range of intellectual disabilities. Disabilities may include cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism, and sensory impairment. Through our program, we train individuals to develop functional skills for daily living through repetitive learning activities.


Our Training Includes:

  • Dressing and grooming
  • Toileting
  • Eating
  • Communication
  • Motor development
  • Functional academics
  • Vocational work skills and habits
  • Independent living
  • Reduction of maladaptive behavior

The Community Day Service program, formerly Developmental Training, has been providing skill training for clients over the age of 21 since 1961.  With over 40% of our staff at CDS having more than 10 years of service to our agency, we are very thankful to our staff for the care and dedication to the community.
